Zuzu formally known as Hope 3/20/22

Just before Christmas 2021, Tacoma Humane Society reached out to Saint Bernard Rescue Washington regarding a 2 year old female Saint Bernard whose was surrendered to them with a severe skin infection. She was only 60 pounds. I posted her on our facebook page trying to find a foster. Her picture showed just how much she needed an angel to rescue her. Being in the shelter was not good for her.

An angel reached out and said they would be willing to foster to adopt her. Sharry and Micheal O’Hara from Lakewood have rescued Saints in the past. They wanted to foster to adopt Hope. After we checked their references, we agreed to meet at the Humane Society in Tacoma to meet Hope and see if she would be a good fit for their home. When we met Hope all of us shocked by her appearance. She looked at a puppy with little to no hair. She was underweight with scabs covering much of her body. There was no hair on her tail. Sharry and Michael wanted to take her home. I went to their home to do the home check and see if Hope would be accepted by their pups. Everything worked out.

Micheal and Sharry set up vet appointments for Hope. Since she was our Christmas miracle they renamed her Zuzu. After extensive vet care and unconditional love and attention, Zuzu gained 37 pounds and has much of her hair back. She is very happy with her forever home. Her vet cleared her to be spay so on March 14, 2022 Micheal and Sharry officially adopted this little girl. She is in her forever home with a family who will love her to the end of time. With the help of our Christmas Angels, Saint Bernard Rescue Washington had a Christmas Miracle.
