Panda – Adopted 12/28/2022

Nope, Panda isn’t a Saint Bernard, he is a Landseer Newfoundland that has been shaved down and is three years old.

Panda came in matted to the skin with dreadlocks so thick and long that it looked like he had four ears. He was found in his owner’s yard unresponsive in the midday heat during the summer. When the officer placed him on the tailgate of his truck, he started having a seizure. He was having heatstroke and was extremely dehydrated.

Panda doesn’t have seizures at all with the one seizure being caused from the heatstroke he was suffering from. His owners had to relinquish him due to the abuse.

He loves water and tends to sometimes play in his water bucket. He likes to lead himself around with his leash and does well on the leash. He loves loves loves people. He is learning not to get so excited at seeing you that he forgets and jumps up on you. He is doing very well with this. His groomer that shaved him down said he just sat in her lap and let her do the shaving while giving her kisses. Panda currently plays with fellow rescue Missy, and he is so easy to get along with that he is the only rescue here that we can let out with her at this point in time.
