All dogs are spay/neutered, heartworm checked and up to date on vaccinations. Dozer: Dozer was frequently brought to the shelter because his owners did not have a fence and he would leave and go hang out at a government office building in town. It sounds like everyone working there knew and loved Dozer. He was a regular greeter of people working and doing business at this office. He loved having a job. Unfortunately they were not looking for an office mascot and he was turned in several times to the shelter. Eventually he was surrendered by his owners. The shelter manager told me that Dozer's friends would see her and ask how he was doing at the shelter, offered to pay for his neuter etc. A very popular fellow and a favorite at the shelter as well. The surrender information states that he has been around cats and is fine-we have not yet tested his. He is very good with people (of course) and other dogs. Dozer is still in the shelter and needs a foster or adoptive home. 7/9/2010 Adrian: is a bit of a pampered 5 year old St. Bernard. She has lived with two other dogs and got along pretty fine, however she has met a few dogs at the dog park that she hasn't liked. With proper dog introductions she does better. Adrian will also be starting obedience class with her new foster mom. 7/2/2010 Buddah: is a beautiful 2 year old male saint looking for an experienced saint home. His new owners will need time to dedicate to Buddah to channel that energy into a well mannered dog. He would be great for the person interested in obedience, weight pulling, or carting. Give this dog a job and he will be forever grateful. Buddah is currently being fostered in Michigan but arrangements can be made to get him to the right home. 7/2/2010 Charlie: is a loving 7 year old male saint. He is such a nice boy. He is past the silly adolescent stage and ready to be the companion you've been looking for. Don't underestimate the love of an older saint. (Adoption fee is $275) 7/2/2010 Jade: was in bad shape when she came to her current temporary home. She has diabetes and needs special medical care and a special diet. Currently she requires insulin injections twice daily on a regular 12 hr interval (currently 7 & 7- it can be adjusted to a different time but has to be done gradually). The dose depends on her urine glucose which is checked every couple of days (just hold a urine strip in the stream). Occasionally she will need blood levels checked. She is also on a special diet (Purina DCO) and cannot be fed a lot of extras as that will change her insulin requirement. Absolutely no table food. She has gained about 20 pounds now that she is getting good care and now weighs in at about 115-120 pounds. But Jade's home is just a temporary stop to get well before finding a new permanent home where she will be loved and get the medical care that she needs on a daily basis. You will be greatly rewarded by this wonderful girl. If you have the experience it takes to provide for Jade's medical needs, or are willing to work with your vet to get the training you will need to care for this gentle giant, then please fill out an application today! 7/2/2010 Contact: Mary and Jim Lee jmlee@hcinet.net (320)367-2792
